A recurring question has been “Have you got a copy of the Roll of Honour that was published in 1998?”
Happily the answer is yes. That lead me to thinking that for those that do not have a copy of the original printed document, how might I help them in their search.
Here’s the solution that I hit upon. A png copy of the document reproduced in full. I originally watermarked it to acknowledge the original source and the purpose behind this limited publication. Since then digital techniques have moved on and the watermark seems a pointless intrusion to the enjoyment of those who would wish to share our history. I remain open to your thoughts and input on this matter.
On a similar, related vein, I’m wondering what are the chances that we could ask people to provide
their own short biography, if they would like to.
Further it might be good to record memories of any of those people who are no longer with us. Indeed those who are still with us might like to share some of their recollections. You can let us have your story in any format you wish – digital, hand written or typed.
Feel free to let me know your thoughts and memories. Andy Renals CFRS RMA Newsletter Editor
