Getting the word out! Establishment Bulletins
There used to be a weekly? post run. This was how important information was sent to all departments and stations with the Brigade as it was. This practice endured well into the 1980’s and perhaps longer. The post run must have been started under the direction of Bernard Christmas who was Chief Fire Officer at the time the Brigade was formed. More on the formation of the Brigade in the coming days and weeks.

I’ve selected this particular bulletin from the small stash that have come across my desk. Names that I recognise include Bill Champion, Jim Ashwin, Larry Shields and F. Hadfield – brigade number 104 – our Life Vice President.

Those with eagle eyes or humongous magnifying lenses will notice the date of publication 31 December 1959 and the fact that Service HQ was at St George’s Road in Truro. If seeing this bulletin triggers any memories or anecdotes with you, feel free to share them.
